I know by being a Kyrie fan that there was a lot of speculation about why and how Kyrie Irving left Boston when he clearly stated, "If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here next year." There was always the simple fact that Kyrie wanted to go back home, so in this case is likely that personal matter influenced his decision to go to Brooklyn. During the Nets Media Day last Friday Kyrie mentioned how it was imperative for him to come back to his roots and that this had always been an important staple in his mind. Irving also mentioned how that a lot of things happened in his personal life that really effected how he felt about basketball. We soon learn that Irving was dealing with depression and the loss of his grandfather. Now, to me at least, it is clear to why he had such a rough second season in Boston. Even though people like me wanted Irving to re-sign it was evident that he should not because the whole team chemistry and atmosphere was off and Kyrie, with what he's been through, should be able to get a fresh start in his hometown.
